Notes - In 1841 and 1851 John Soutter or Souter lived in a farm called Craigsanquhar near Kilmany. Still in existence today, the farm has 198 acres. In 1851, Isabel Willie or Wylie stayed with them, aged 80. John was a farmer. In 1861 John Soutter was at a farm called Chapel of Lochore near Ballingry. This was taken over by the mining industry and the place is now Lochore Meadows Country Park. John and his wife are buried in Warriston Cemetery, grave no.407.5 - no stone traced.
His death certificate in Edinburgh is 685/2/384 and reads : John Soutter, farmer retired, m.to Jean Kilgour, died 4.7.1879 aged 75, son of James Soutter (Wright, Master) and Lillias Soutter M.S.Mitchell, signed by John Soutter (son).
