    • He was killed in a coalmining accident. He and Sarah lived in a cottage at the top of Windy Hill in the Whickham area near Newcastle according to Uncle Alfie. In the 1881 Census he lived at No. 15, Howden le Wear, North Bedburn, Co. Durham with his wife Sarah Ann and his son John W. Hymers. Robert was a coalminer.
